The Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce is a non-partisan organization established to foster, promote and improve business development in a responsible manner while providing value to membership through benefits, partnerships, communications, advocacy and initiatives.
During these important times in Nunavut, the answer would be that we are a “chamber of change.” The change comes from a constant transformation of the way we live and work in the region. While we are a “chamber of change”, we call ourselves a Chamber of Commerce because we seek to make commerce happen through business growth and attraction, as well as the advocacy efforts that help improve business in our region.
Your membership decision is certainly worth the investment. There is power in the partnership of the members of the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce. You cannot put a dollar figure on the benefits, referrals, business leads, political contacts, marketing services, economic development projects, research information and other work that your chamber does on the behalf of the Baffin business community.
The Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce is located in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
Funded principally by membership sales, project management/administration fees and the profits realized from the annual Nunavut Trade Show & Conference, your regional chamber works for a healthy economic climate of good jobs, capital creation, and honest, efficient government. Our strength lies in the number and diversity of our membership.

Thank you for visiting our website. It is my pleasure to welcome you and hope that you enjoy your visit. Our website will give you a look at what is going on at the BRCC, and will hopefully encourage you to visit the amazing north in person. Many riches are yet to be discovered and the opportunities are unimaginable.
The Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce represents and lobbies for its members throughout the Baffin Region and is extremely proud of the connection and working relationship that we have with the Government of Nunavut. We are proud to say that this relationship has allowed us to be able to prepare our programs around what the government has to offer to businesses and the youth of the territory.
The Baffin Regional Chamber has had much success through different events over the last number of years, we have been successful in running the Nunavut Trade Show and Conference, the CED Weeks-Trade, Service, and Career Fairs, the bookkeepers course which is designed to graduate qualified bookkeepers through a certified course , and the Northern Lights event for which planning is underway for the 2nd of its kind, to be held in Ottawa, February 1-4, 2012.
The theme for the Northern Lights 2010 will be "The North Means Business", an invitation to the South to look up to the North for opportunities to partner with Northern Companies and the people of the North to develop long lasting relationships. The North presents a very unique way of doing business and the challenges are very rewarding.
I am very pleased to tell you that we just recently had our 20th annual Nunavut Trade Show and Conference and despite the down turn in the economy throughout Canada and the rest of the world, the show was sold out and a great success. I would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce who put in many hours from their own busy schedules to make this happen. It is nice to know that we have such dedicated people who will go the extra mile to make things happen.
As I said, we have begun planning the next Northern Lights event and I would encourage everyone to take an active role in the development of the show. I would also encourage anyone that is interested in becoming a member of the chamber to do so. We have had a busy and very active Board of Directors who are always working on one project or another to ensure that we are all successful.
Again enjoy your visit to our website and we look forward to working with you in the future. Our business is the Business of Baffin.
