For over 17 years, the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) has been presenting the annual business achievement awards to worthy recipients across the territory.  Since 1999, those awards have been called the Nunavut Business Achievement Awards. 

The BRCC would like to congratulate the following recipients of the 2012 Nunavut Business Achievement Awards that were presented on September 19, 2012. 

 

Business of the Year  

This award is for a business that made a significant positive impact during 2011-12. The nominee should be known for being a good corporate citizen and for reflecting well on the entire business climate in the territory. 

 

Recipient: Nunsatar

Business Person of the Year
This award is for an individual who has achieved something out of the ordinary during 2011 and who has a positive influence in the business community.

Recipient: Dr. Leia Cunningham

Lifetime Achievement Award 
This award recognizes the long-term commitment of an individual to the business community.

Recipient: Mr. Frank May

Special Achievement Award
This award is for an individual, business or group who has displayed extraordinary success or innovation in their economic development.

Recipient: Nunavut Tourism

 

Special Recognition
This award is not always annual and is presented to a business or business person who has gone above and beyond in their work. It is usually awarded when a valued member of our business community has passed away.
