The Community Economic Development Week trip traveled to Igloolik and Hall Beach in the last weeks of March to complete the 2008/09 season of visits.   The Igloolik trip was held on March 20th, and was a one day charter into the community.  There were twenty three organizations that took part in the Career, Trade and Service Fair, and though a slightly smaller group than usual, there was certainly no less enthusiasm.  The whole community came out to the Trade Show and was very appreciative to have access to information, as well as knowledgeable people to answer their questions.  As well, the Skills Canada cardboard qamutiq race was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time, and the winner of the race was “Team Norbit to the Max”.Unfortunately, we were not able to stay for the feast as it was running late, and the reality of traveling in the north is that we are under restrictions for flight times and pilots hours, however overall, Igloolik was a great success.
